About
I research socially-networked media in the context of social capital. At the Missouri School of Journalism, I teach J-2100. I am in my final semester of coursework, after which comes comprehensive exams and then the dissertation.
After graduating from the Missouri School of Journalism in 2002 with a focus in broadcast journalism, I worked as a general assignment television reporter for four years.
I earned my master’s degree at the University of Arizona in 2007 in Latin American Studies. I taught at the U of A both as an adjunct instructor and as a teacher’s aide. My thesis was on the 2006 presidential elections in Mexico. I did a discourse analysis looking at how newspapers represented Mexican sovereignty in the campaign.
I expect to finish with my Ph.D. in Journalism in 2011.
